Free Satellite Data from ESA Browser

The Ruaha Flow Monitor for 2024 abstracts images from ESA

Regular visitors of the Ruaha River (Low) Flow Monitor may have noticed some difference in the color schemes of the images.

The reason for this is that since June 2024 satellite images used in the flow monitor originate from the new ESA browser.

The various private and public website which were instrumental in the development of the Maji Yetu Flow Monitor are now to a major extend replaced bu the new ESA data space browser. The website not only allows free download of selected images but also facilitates some basic analysis. For example the improved visualization of the River flow channels during low flow, are developed by using the new ESA browser.

The conditional open source and free of charge data used for the Maji Yetu websites is further detailed here.
