Zero Flow and Return of Flow at Ruaha Park HQ in 2024
Observations:
- On December 28, 2024 the overflow from Ihefu dries halfway the Ihefu Swamp and Msembe Bridge (Park HQ). WIthout urgent boost of drainage from Usangu Rice Plain the second zero flow period is expected soon. (find satellite image on December 28, 2024 and later)
- November 18, 2024 is the first date of zero flow at the Ruaha Park HQ (Msembe Bridge)
- Due to the cloud and missing sentinel-2 image the period without realtime satellite images extended from December 1, 2024 with no-flow upstream of the Ruaha Park HQ (Msembe Bridge) and December 6, 2024 when flow has returned at the bridge.
- December 3, 2025 has been estimated as the date for the return of flow at the Park HQ (Msembe Bridge)
- You can analyse the imagery during the period of the drying Ruaha River and return of flow at a location some 40km upstream of the Msembe Bridge (Park HQ).
